About the Client:

They are seeking a innovative and knowledgeable technical candidate to ensure that their suppliers meet their high standards. A critical role within the group.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ingredient Expertise: Utilise your extensive food knowledge to assess and approve a diverse range of ingredients and raw materials.
* Supplier Audits: Conduct thorough audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
* Relationship Building: Develop and maintain good, professional relationships with suppliers, promoting collaboration and trust.
* Travel: Be prepared to travel frequently to various supplier locations, both domestically and internationally.
* Quality Assurance: Implement and uphold the client's quality assurance protocols, ensuring consistency and quality in every product.
* VACCP: Conducting and updating ingredient risk assessments for integrity (VACCP), and evaluating physical, chemical, microbiological, allergenic, and GMO risks.
* Compliance: Assessing the compliance of new and existing ingredient and packaging suppliers, external service providers, co-packers, and licensed producers against the clients code of practice.
Qualifications:
* Food Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the food industry, raw materials, and industry standards. BRC knowledge will be essential.
* Experience: Previous experience in vendor assurance, quality control, as well as food safety and HACCP.
* Confidence: Ability to approach suppliers with confidence, demonstrating expertise and authority.
* Communication Skills: Comprehensive verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey expectations and requirements.
* Adaptability: Flexibility to travel frequently and adapt to different environments and cultures.
