About the role.  
A fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Team Leader has arisen to join the team at our Bo’ness site. You will be responsible for the management, prioritisation & allocation of ad-hoc reactive engineering tasks and ensuring that planned tasks are carried out to the correct standards. Our Bo'ness site employs over 1,000 people and produces food-to-go salads and salad accompaniments to a number of customers.  It is located 3.5 miles from Linlithgow and 8 miles to Falkirk. 
 
Accountabilities:   

•    Understand the site daily priorities / plans, direct and motivate their engineering shift team as required
•    Manage the engineering team (including contractors) to ensure delivery of scheduled work and reactive work so that plant availability is optimised and manage technical specifications for ingredients, products, processes & packaging 
•    Implement agreed training & development plans to meet engineering & production needs. Comply with statutory & Bakkavor Health & Safety requirement, ensures reports work in a safe manner. This will include ownership of dynamic risk assessment process 
•    Ensure engineering downtime is minimised, accurately logged, and monitor the repair time. Liaise with planning and operations team to allow for PPM to be completed in a timely manner 
•    Communicating, report and update Production Shift Managers, Senior Production / Engineering Managers and relevant Production Team Leaders regarding current breakdown status, impact and lead time to resolution
•    Ensure all stock is logged in and out of the stores area highlighting any stock issues to the engineering team manager 
•    To maintain standards of hygiene and good housekeeping appropriate to a quality food manufacturer. GMP standard of workshops and engineers tool boxes is maintained at a high level 
•    Be the Engineering point of contact during & out of hours
•    Respond to and prioritise the shift to resolve line running issues
•    Carry out all other ad-hoc Management requests as consistent with the role
 

 About you. 
It is essential that you have:
 •    Approved Engineering or Mechanical apprentice (City & Guilds and National Certificate)
•    Fault-finding skills,
•    Understanding of problem-solving techniques; RCA, 5Y.
•    Experience and understanding of machine controls and PLCs.
•    Practical mechanical and electrical experience within a production environment, ideally in food manufacturing
•    Demonstrable understanding of Production prioritisation (desirable).
