Job Details

The role will be responsible for managing and delivering training across the business and ensuring that Health & Safety is managed to the highest standard.

It is an exciting time to join as the company head in to a new period of growth. With proven experience within food manufacturing in a BRCGS standard site, you’ll bring new ideas, build on existing systems and establish a strong department that ensures our staff are equipped with the skills they need and are working in line with H&S requirements.  You’ll be managing, and supported by, the Training & Health & Safety Coordinator.

Key Accountabilities:

    Ensuring the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas of Health & Safety including fire safety, risk assessments, safe systems of work, training & monitoring To be instrumental in continuous improvement of company Health & Safety procedures and management. Implement a Health & Safety Committee at both sites; chair regular meetings & manage administration of meeting minutes & action points Investigate all accidents & near misses Responsible for ensuring annual risk assessment reviews are carried out & required actions completed Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations for both staff & contractors Maintain a rolling program of review & update of Health & Safety procedure instructions across all departments at both sites Regular reporting to the Directors & Senior Management team on HS issues, progress, improvements and KPIs. Responsible for the management of fire safety at both sites; responsible for ensuring weekly/monthly fire safety equipment checks are carried out and taking the lead in an emergency situation

Person Profile

Organised and an excellent communicator and able to demonstrate your ability as a proficient health and safety manager to develop and promote a compliant health and safety culture across the business.  Previous experience from a similar role in food manufacturing Ideally NEBOSH qualified Ability to prioritise and organise
