NPD Lead

Protea Recruitment is seeking a skilled NPD Lead  to join a prominent food processing company on the east side of Edinburgh. This distinctive role presents a rare opportunity to spearhead NPD projects, overseeing the entire product development process from inception to market launch.

About the Role:

Manage all aspects of NPD projects, ensuring food safety and regulatory compliance. Develop new food products and processes using agile methodologies. Collaborate with various departments (Technical, Procurement, Production) to bring products to market. Write specifications, generate labels, and conduct cooking validations. Manage design agencies and ensure accurate product costing. Oversee existing product engineering to meet evolving food legislation.

Who You Are:

Hold a degree in a food-related science field.

At least 2 years within an NPD role 

Possess experience in food product development or a related field. Have a passion for innovation and a strong understanding of food safety regulations.

Enjoy working independently and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively.

Having worked in a Chilled or frozen product range is required as well as supplying a top 4 UK retailer, preferably M&S.
