The Role

Utilising your knowledge of R&D and product prototyping processes you will spearhead the NPD conceptualization stages for key customers, new and existing.

 You’ll be managing R&D and NPD projects, helping to map out the strategy through ideation sessions, managing all stages of the critical path and communicating key milestones to customers and internal teams. The role will encompass creative development and commercial evaluation, as well as being mindful of costings and technical requirements, drawing on your industry and product knowledge to encourage growth and a solution focused mindset with your team.

An important aspect of the role will include liaising closely with suppliers and customers, working in partnership with them to ensure your products are developed in line with their brand values.

You’ll be leading customer meetings and presentations where you can clearly communicate ideas and manage project milestones. You will also need to relish the challenge of applying your R&D / NPD knowledge to new product categories, where your curiosity knows no bounds.

The Person

An R&D professional who can utilise their strategic thinking and passion for innovation in a commercially driven, customer facing role. You will have strong project management skills gained from your experience within product development roles and understand the key drivers for getting products to market. A keen eye for emerging food trends is essential as well as a thorough understanding of the creative and technical aspects of the product development process. You’ll also have excellent attention to detail and a systematic approach to tasks with a drive for results and a high customer focus.

You’ll have top notch interpersonal and communicative ability, all the better to complement your capacity to influence key stakeholders. Assertive and methodical in your approach you’ll also be flexible and adaptive in order to achieve success in this challenging and rewarding role.
