Product Development Manager

The Company

This is an amazing opportunity to join a multinational business who pride themselves on bringing customers delicious and innovative food. They are expanding further into the UK market with branded and own label products that will be launching into the major retailers.  To make this happen they need an accomplished and influential Product Manager to join their team.

Home based role with regular travel to Europe.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you will be part of the UK team but work with your European manufacturing sites, across all functions to create and deliver an exceptional product portfolio. You will capture new trends and identify relevant market opportunities, defining and executing a strong 2-year Innovation pipeline (brand and private label) that fits with new consumer trends and will grow market share.   

You’ll work in partnership with the category management team and the sales team to ensure outstanding product presentations to customers, being the key point of contact and working to understand customer strategies and opportunities.

This is an all-encompassing role where you will be managing the whole product lifecycle, ensuring a strong product strategy and roadmap across your categories resulting in the launch of on-trend products that are commercially sound.

Your confidence and strong relationship building skills will allow you to create lasting relationships with retail customers, manufacturing sites and suppliers. You will shape and lead the NPD/EPD projects, directing the internal / external teams involved, motivating and inspiring them to deliver innovation and excellence with pride. 

The Person

We are looking for a talented NPD Manager ideally with a food science qualification as well as experience gained from a food manufacturing, food retail or food brand environment. You will have experience of working with the major UK retailers with and understanding of their processes and how to deliver true innovation to consumers.

You need to have the ability to galvanise and enthuse colleagues, customers and suppliers, and will have a proven track record of bringing exciting products to market whilst having developed the credibility to influence at all levels.

With fantastic attention to detail and a true self-starter, you aren’t phased by constant change and challenges – you have the drive to deliver and can adapt and implement solutions swiftly. A natural collaborator and communicator, you will have a history of inspiring others and bringing them together.
