Our client, a fast-growing Food Manufacturer based in Nottinghamshire, is looking for a Raw Materials Technologist to join their Technical Team.  The successful candidate will support the technical department to ensure raw materials comply with food safety and legislative requirements 

Reporting to the Senior Technical Coordinator, responsibilities for the role will include:
•    Review & approval of all raw material specifications and supplier documentation
•    Ensuring supplier approval documents are kept up to date 
•    Assisting as necessary with the completion of customer queries and documents 
•    Assisting in third party visits and audits, participating in the company internal audit program and providing support within the Technical Department
•    Conducting internal traces and supplier traces 
•    Ensuring relevant company risk assessments are kept up to date 
•    Requesting and collating VACCP information. Responding to customer VACCP queries
•    Conducting internal audits e.g. GMP and scheduled audits 
•    Assisting in the approval of new artwork 

Essential / Desirable skills include:
•    A degree or equivalent in a Food Science or related discipline 
•    Experience in reviewing raw material or finished product specifications  
•    An understanding of technical systems including HACCP 
•    Competency in Microsoft products, notably Excel
•    Physically fit to undertake manual handling and taste testing

The working hours for the role are 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, ideally 9am – 5pm with some flexibility available. The salary is competitive plus an excellent benefits package. A driving licence and own vehicle is recommended due the location of the site.
