Head of Quality Assurance

Responsible for driving and managing quality and food safety processes, systems and guidelines.

Responsible for the development of the technical department and its respective functions you will define the food quality standards, provide direction and support the site in ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Accountabilities
•    Develop strategies to ensure smooth functioning of quality and food safety processes, systems and
guidelines for all incoming materials, processes as well as finished goods
•    Draft and propose revisions in the quality assurance policies, processes, systems and guidelines 
•    Develop the budget for the department
•    Lead and monitor initiatives to improve quality performance in factory
•    Manage Quality and Food Safety Audits and ensure zero non-compliance
•    Responsible for implementation of quality control measures
•    Ensure all in-process checks and quality control activities are adhered to 
•    Oversee quality of new product being developed including 
•    Ensure adherence to all quality certifications required in plant and compliance in internal and external
audits
•    Ensure timely resolution of customer queries and quality audit observations
•    Driving health, safety and environment agenda
•    Advising management, executives and employees in the field of QHSE.

Person Profile
•    Degree or equivalent in a food science or related subject
•    Able to operate at both a strategic and tactical level, with experience inputting to the longer-term plans of the business and implementing them. 
•    Ability to build and develop strong, cooperative relationships with key stakeholders at executive and operational management levels 
•    A commercial outlook with strong technical principles
•    Breadth of technical management expertise 
•    Experience of supplying the UK retailers
