An exciting opportunity has arisen with a renowned chilled food manufacturer who continue to cook up a storm by creating delicious products for the major retailers. To aid their journey of bringing great tasting meals to customers across the nation, they are looking for a super foodie Development Chef to join their talented team.

The Role

In this exciting and rewarding role you’ll develop inspirational new concepts for major retail customers. You’ll also be refreshing existing ranges to keep up with the latest food and ingredient trends, monitoring competitor products and performance to ensure your ranges are the best in the market.

Reporting to the Head of Development, and sitting within the wider NPD team, you will collaborate with an array of fellow creatives to ensure the delicious concepts you conjure up are commercially viable. This will include working alongside fellow development chefs, to find high quality solutions for key customers, whether through finding new ingredients, utilising cooking techniques, and sourcing packaging solutions that will differentiate your products from those in the marketplace.

You’ll also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure new concepts are always delicious, follow nutritional guidelines and are scalable from a production perspective. Along with this you will continuously look to refine recipes to ensure they are cost-effective, and compliant with food safety standards.

The Person

We are looking for a talented Development Chef who has gained invaluable NPD experience in a chilled food manufacturing environment. A passionate creative, who has spent time building up their culinary expertise in high-end restaurant environments, before entering the world of food manufacturing. This manufacturing experience is essential, due to the fast pace nature of the role.

You’ll have the desire to create innovative products that will delight customers up and down the country. You’ll have strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate with key stakeholders both internally and externally.

Experience of working closely with the major retailers, as well as a Culinary degree or qualification would also be highly advantageous.
