Our client is a ready meal manufacture based in the Lancashire, known for our commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. As they continue to grow, they are looking for a skilled and experienced Technical Quality Manager to join our clients team and uphold our high standards.
Job Overview:
The Technical Quality Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of quality assurance and control across our clients real meals operations. This role is crucial in ensuring that our clients products meet the highest standards of safety, consistency, and quality, in compliance with industry regulations and customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in food manufacturing, excellent leadership skills, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance & Control: Develop, implement, and manage quality assurance systems to ensure that all products meet or exceed quality and safety standards. Monitor production processes and conduct regular quality checks.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations, including HACCP, BRCGS, and other industry standards. Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required.
Product Development Support: Work closely with the R&D team to ensure that new products meet quality standards from concept through to production. Provide technical guidance on ingredient selection, formulation, and production processes.
Supplier Management: Collaborate with the procurement team to assess and approve suppliers, ensuring that all raw materials meet quality specifications. Conduct supplier audits and manage ongoing supplier performance.
Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor the quality control team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and attention to detail. Develop and deliver training programs for production staff on quality standards and food safety.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of quality control activities, including inspection reports, non-conformance records, and corrective actions. Prepare regular quality performance reports for senior management.
Customer Focus: Address and resolve customer complaints and issues related to product quality. Work closely with the customer service team to ensure timely and effective communication with customers.
Key Requirements:
Relevant Food Manufacturing experience
Solid working knowledge of GMP and HACCP, TACCP/VACCP principles and practice
In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and regulations, including HACCP, BRCGS, and ISO standards. Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in training and developing staff.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
