Packaging Technologist

The Company and Role. 

As exciting new opportunity has arisen working for this market leading food business who possess ambitious growth plans. The business produces and supply a range of chilled and frozen products within international market. This is an exciting opportunity where you will use your expertise and experience to drive the delivery of packaging projects as part of the business’s packaging road map and innovation strategy. This is a fantastic newly created packaging Technologist role within a growing R&D Innovation team with opportunity for global travel.
 
Role Profile:

• You will be responsible for the delivery and technical project management of packaging projects, ensuring that packaging solutions meet all legal, functional and customer/consumer requirements.
• Working closely with key internal stakeholders, acting as a voice of technology in your area of functional expertise, you will proactively work with external suppliers to ensure packaging performance and manage and present technical issues on existing packaging solutions.
• Keeping up to date with packaging trends and technologies as well as customer needs, you will use your knowledge and insights to generate ideas to fuel the packaging strategy.
• You will develop and maintain packaging specifications that are fit for purpose and volume manufacturing.

 People Profile:

• An experienced packaging professional with a strong FMCG background.
• Experience in packaged consumer goods.
• Experience introducing and validating new packaging projects and manufacturing processes.
• Good working knowledge of rigid and flexible packaging items.
• Ability to interpret and create technical drawings, ideally with 3D CAD experience.
• Experience working through a stage gate product development processes.
• Experience leading and delivering large technical work programmes with cross functional teams.
