Company and Role.
This established and innovative company are looking to expand their R+D facilities with some exciting projects coming up. They are respected within their sector to deliver great tasting products using the latest scientific techniques. Serving a wide range of international markets, they are passionate about healthy eating and high quality ingredients. Managing a small team, you proactively engage with Innovation teams, commercial teams, suppliers and customers to champion and enable world class innovation and flavour development.
Key Accountabilities.
- To drive and proactively engage with the Innovation teams, commercial teams, suppliers and customers to submit and develop ideas for business growth and follow innovation best practices
- To be at the forefront of and drive marketing, application, and flavourings formulation innovation
- To enable flavours team to manage scale up through pilot to commercial volumes
- To support the introduction of flavours in the market
- Own, improve, and follow the innovation / development end to end process
- Take fully responsibility of the activities of the flavours team including regulatory/ compliance requirements.
The Person.
- A food related degree qualification preferably in Food Science (or related science subject)
- Highly experienced individual with exceptional level of understanding in relation to flavours creation and process across several categories including beverage, functional systems and bakery including the areas of concept development through to launch
- Previous experience in application of flavourings in food product development and formulations. Having experience of dealing both with the retailer and QSR sectors
- A track record in flavour concept, process and bringing product to market
- To lead a team and motivate by example, ensuring each member of the team has continual professional development
- Ability to communicate at all levels, working with the others within the senior innovations team
- As a “Foodie” with a keen interest in food trends, oversee the team working on customer briefs to develop concept ideas within the company and customer guidelines.
