Lead Product Developer

The Company

An international brand, passionate about innovation and sustainability with a reputation for great quality products. Due to an internal promotion they are looking to strengthen the team with a Lead Developer who can manage and drive complex NPD projects from concept stage through to launch.

There will be occasional European travel and the role is hybrid (3 days on site) but flex required.

The Role

Reporting the Product Development Manager, you will help implement the NPD strategy and work with global teams to deliver exciting new products for this branded business. You will be responsible for specific projects within the development pipeline for the European market, ensuring that they are commercially viable and delivered at pace.

As well as being hands on and managing high profile projects, you will also be leading a small team of Developers, encouraging and inspiring them to grow. Along with this, you will play a vital part in managing key external stakeholder partnerships, influencing and navigating key project milestones to ensure full alignment and collaboration.

You will be involved in all stages of the product lifecycle, from product formulation to factory trials and launch. Using consumer & market insights, technology trends, and knowledge of new ingredients; you will help identify new opportunities to expand the product portfolio. As well as NPD, you will also be involved with EPD projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to achieve successful product launches.

The Person

Suit a driven and passionate Senior NPD Technologist or NPD Manager who is degree educated within Food Science or Food Technology. Experience within ingredients, powdered products, or drinks would be ideal as would working within a branded business.

You will have a real passion for developing food & drink products, are adept at managing the innovation pipeline, with a solid understanding of recipe formulation, scale up and launch. 

You will have a strong track record of successfully managing and delivering projects with cross-functional teams as well as working closely with multinational suppliers. You will be a natural communicator with the ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships to really excel in this role. Team management experience is required for this role.
