Head Baker for high-end artisanal wholesale bakery in Manchester. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of bread production, leading a team to drive improvements.
Reporting to the Operations Manager and Managing Director, responsibilities for the role will include:
- Managing all parts of artisan bakery manufacturing, analysing daily production demands and making plans appropriately
- Ensuring recipes are followed and the highest levels of product quality are achieved
- Supporting the NPD team to develop new products
- Managing daily quality KPI’s
- Management of employees through the team leaders, including recruitment, rotas, managing absences, holidays, performance feedback, probation reviews, and job chats, holding daily briefings with the team, and a monthly team meeting
Essential / Desirable skills include:
- Passionate about baking with excellent knowledge and experience
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Excellent leadership qualities
- Significant experience running an artisan bakery team
- Strong IT skills; outlook, excel

The working hours for the role are 45 hours per week, day shift starting 10am, working 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis. The salary is £40k - £45k per annum plus an excellent benefits package.
