Head Baker for high-end artisanal wholesale bakery in Manchester. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of bread production, leading a team to drive improvements.

Reporting to the Operations Manager and Managing Director, responsibilities for the role will include:

• Managing all parts of artisan bakery manufacturing, analysing daily production demands and making plans appropriately
• Ensuring recipes are followed and the highest levels of product quality are achieved
• Supporting the NPD team to develop new products
• Managing daily quality KPI’s
• Management of employees through the team leaders, including recruitment, rotas, managing absences, holidays, performance feedback, probation reviews, and job chats, holding daily briefings with the team, and a monthly team meeting

Essential / Desirable skills include:

• Passionate about baking with excellent knowledge and experience
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Excellent leadership qualities
• Significant experience running an artisan bakery team
• Strong IT skills; outlook, excel

The working hours for the role are 45 hours per week, day shift starting 10am, working 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis. The salary is £40k - £45k per annum plus an excellent benefits package.
