Extrusion Operator
We are looking for hard-working and motivated individuals to join our production operations teams in the following areas:

  • Pellet Plant extrusion lines

Our General Operators work in a range of areas including: Process, where you are involved in monitoring and operating the pellet fryer and seasoning equipment while ensuring product Quality is maintained; Packaging and Multipack, where you will be monitoring and operating packaging machines while completing important Quality checks; Raw Materials, which includes driving a Shunter to move trailers around the yard and booking in the raw materials on the SAP system; the Pellet Plant Control Room, which involves monitoring and operating the pellet production line.

Summary:
Location: Newark Rd, Lincoln. LN5 8XN
Salary: £32 760,69 per annum (inclusive of shift allowance)

Holidays: 23 days holiday (with the option to buy/sell holiday)
Working Hours: 12 hour continental shifts, based on a 4on4off pattern across nights and days. This will include workings weekends and bank holidays. This role is on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (2 days 6am-6pm, 2 nights 6pm-6am then 4 off) with 3 x 30-minute paid breaks.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Completion of duties in a safe and responsible manner and in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
  • Responsibility in the running & manufacturing of pellets, from two pellet extruding lines, to the required specification.
  • Monitoring the performance of the lines to ensure optimal running during production, utilising the SQCDM short interval control process, to always achieve maximum output.
  • Maximise reliability through executing operator critical X rounds & IPS audits.
  • Carry out and accurately record periodic quality control checks on output, taking remedial action where required.
  • 1st response to breakdowns, diagnosing faults, troubleshooting, and support with maintenance & repairs during machine operation.
  • Working to work orders and job specification guidelines, and accurately completing all production-related controlled documents.
  • Conduct detailed shift handovers and maintain activity logs where & when required.
  • Record the volume of waste produced during the extrusion process for each area using the designated waste procedures.
  • Maintenance of housekeeping and hygiene standards, including the maintaining of cleaning standards throughout the shifts whilst working to a 'Clean as you Go' policy.
  • Completion of ad-hoc duties to meet the needs of the business, subject to appropriate training.

What are we looking for?
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience required:

 

 

  • As a minimum, a good general education: Grades A-C at GCSE level including Maths, English & another Science/Technical subject
  • Experience working in an operational role on an extrusion line/process plant, would be preferred
  • A strong work ethic and loyal ethos
  • High attention to detail and the capacity to work at a fast pace
  • Strong communication skills on all levels
  • A problem solving and analytical approach
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment
  • A technical understanding and familiarity of machinery
  • Process control Room experience
  • HGV / Shunter driving experience
