Reed Food & FMCG have been briefed to recruit for a Spec Tech to join a Food Manufacturing Business in Liverpool.

Job Title: Specification Technologist

Location: Liverpool

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 Per Annum



Some Key Responsibilities:

To provide accurate technical specifications to customers and departments within the organisation.

To ensure Raw material specifications are available for required materials

To manage customer requests and ensure good quality communication following spec requests.

To calculate ingredient lists from recipes and to ensure that they are legal, and that labelling conforms.

To prepare Product and Ingredient Specifications for issue to customers and for use by other departments, and to liaise with the sites Technical Manager to ensure accuracy of information.



Candidate specification:

Ability to demonstrate previous experience and knowledge of the food industry, products, and UK/EC food legislation

Be 'Customer Focused' and have the ability and confidence to deal with difficult situations in a tactful and diplomatic manner, thus maintaining the professional image of the Company

An understanding of raw materials and their specifications.

Flexible attitude to work, and the ability to travel between sites as and when required.
