Exciting opportunity to join an expanding Food Manufacturer in Lancashire as Quality Manager, with potential career development to Technical Manager. The successful candidate will steer the fast-paced site toward standards that would pass the most rigorous of inspections, maintaining audit ready status at all times.   

Reporting to the Managing Director, responsibilities for the role will include:

• Leading third-party audits (BRCGS, Halal, Retailer Audits)
• Ensuring the Quality Management System is fully implemented 
• Conducting factory based internal audits and closing out non-conformances 
• Leading the HACCP Team to ensure that the HACCP system is reviewed and maintained in line with internal and BRCGS requirements
• Investigating and managing the root causes of complaints to reduce them in line with KPIs 
• Managing the information / samples to and from the external laboratory as well as the interpretation of microbiological results
• Implementing of the site allergen validation and verification programme
• Ensuring the small QA/QC team are effective within their areas, developing their competencies on an ongoing basis 

Essential / Desirable skills include:

• Experience leading BRC and retailer audits  
• Working knowledge of major retailers
• Experience managing Quality within a food manufacturing factory environment
• Sound understanding of customer online specification systems such as Hive, Evolve, TQC, SVA Prestige, OPRi, etc

The working hours for the role are ideally 7:30am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday. The salary is £40k - £45k per annum plus benefits package.
