Job Details

Responsibility for managing risk, achieved through ensuring that all information relating to products is current.  This should include Audit reports and certification, Legal, Governance, Supplier Controls/Risk Assessments and Due Diligence testing

Key Accountabilities:

  • Keep up to date, communicate and actioning customer , food legislation and regulations, industry, certification body, and legal changes that affected our businesses and the changes that will be required, in a structured and timely manner.
  • Ensure all relevant policies, procedures and records are updated, to ensure they are fully implemented.
  • Maintain an awareness of legal requirements impacting product specifications and ensuring the system complies with relevant requirements.
  • Assist Technologists/Sites in the implementation of new UK policies and procedures.
  • Support Technologists in the follow up and root cause analysis of consumer/customer complaints – report back to relevant bodies and make recommendations, follow up on corrective actions.
  • Be responsible for enhancing compliance from raw material and manufacturer upwards to satisfy legal and customer requirements. Assist in improving supply base compliance, supporting in the resolution of compliance related non-conformances in a timely manner.
  • Provide structured and detailed information for visits and events as required and manage actions arising ensuring they are communicated to the relevant departments.
  • To support and promote an improved food safety culture through the implementation of changes in compliance to drive Continuous Improvements in food safety, legality, and support all the technical team functions, for all of the company products.
  • Develop and maintain a close working relationship with key stakeholders, ensuring confidence is established through clear and timely communication, decisive actions based on sound evidence and judgement and a positive attitude to resolving any issues which may arise.

Person Profile

  • Degree level in a science or food technology.
  • Previous experience in a technical role (could be as part of a year in industry)
  • Driven and flexible working ability
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Team player and problem solver
  • Be able to work under pressure
