About the Deputy Hygiene Manager job

The purpose of your role will be to ensure hygiene standards are implemented and maintained across manufacturing units, meeting customer and company requirements. Key duties include verifying hygiene standards, conducting monthly audits, trending data, supporting audits, managing PPE and consumables, and advising on new cleaning methods.

Key tasks

• Ensure hygiene standards by updating cleaning schedules, training staff, and conducting daily checks on hygiene processes, especially for night shifts.
• Supervise Hygiene Team, monitor performance, assign tasks, provide feedback, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist Hygiene Manager with projects, audits, and maintaining the Hygiene Management System while planning workloads and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Ensure safe chemical handling, maintain equipment, liaise with external providers, and oversee customer audits. Deputise for Hygiene Manager when needed.

About You

• Experience as a Hygiene Supervisor or Hygiene Team Leader in a High Care Food Manufacturing Environment.
• Food Safety Level 3, HACCP Level 3.
• Good understanding & able to demonstrate people management skills.
• An ability to effectively prioritise a demanding workload to ensure that all KPIs are achieved.

The Deputy Hygiene Manager job (ref: 8786) is based in Surbiton, South West London and is paying up to £42,000 according to your experience.

The package includes 20 days annual leave, cycle to work scheme as well as sports and social funds.

The working hours are Sunday to Wednesday or Monday to Thursday 8:00pm – 7:00am.
