About the Technical and Quality Manager job

The purpose of your role will be to lead the technical and quality team and take responsibility for overall food safety following company strategy as well as approving standard operating procedures as the health and safety appointed person for the business. You would be the HACCP team lead as well as the trading standards and environmental health first point of contact.

Key tasks

Oversee recall tests, incident management, NCR analysis, and drive continuous improvement, including complaint management and reduction plans.

Manage allergens, product/environment testing, threat assessments (HACCP), and supplier/raw material reviews to ensure compliance.

Ensure accurate documentation (origins, tariffs, labelling) and support NPD/EPD with labelling, shelf-life requirements, and supplier approvals.

Guide the Technical and Quality team, manage objectives, and deputize for the Operations Manager when needed.

About You

Strong experience in food manufacturing, team management, cost control, and knowledge of customer codes (e.g., Tesco, Aldi, Disney).

Skilled in managing audits, certifications (BRC, NEBOSH), allergen control, and HACCP/Level 4 Food Hygiene.

Personable, with excellent communication and relationship-building abilities across all levels.

Detail-oriented with a proven track record in process improvement and effective problem resolution.

The Technical and Quality Manager job (ref:8814) is based near Oxford and is paying £50,000 - £60,000 pro rata according to your experience. There is potential for the role to be extended past the 3-month period. This is a part time role of 3 days per week, two days on site and one working remotely.

The site is near Oxford and is commutable from Bicester, Rugby, Northampton, Banbury (Oxfordshire).
