About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Manager to join our team on an initial 12 month FTC.

The Quality Manager will play a pivotal role in upholding the integrity, quality and authenticity of our award-winning food products. In this role you will provide specialised insights and essential guidance on all technical and quality matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist expertise and guidance to support the food safety culture at Karimix
  • Ensure all products comply with customer specifications
  • Manage the QMS ensuring compliance with the latest BRCGS standard, and HACCP plans
  • Facilitate and manage technical audits including GMP audits, contributing to the continuous improvement of the site standards
  • Manage investigations, identifying root causes, implementing effective corrective, preventative actions and closeouts
  • Lead the HACCP Team
  • Collaborate with the Sales and NPD Teams to ensure product specifications are completed within agreed timescales
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure high standards of food safety and quality
  • Manage annual product traceability, withdrawal, and recall testing
  • Manage the periodic calibration of measuring equipment (e.g. probes and scales)
  • Complete allergen rapid testing and ensure allergen samples and swabs are sent to the lab within agreed timeframes
  • Contribute as part of the Karimix management team

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Quality Management role within the food manufacturing industry is essential
  • Proven Technical expertise supported by a relevant qualification such as a food science degree.
  • HACCP L4 Food safety qualification or equivalent
  • Demonstratable leadership skills with the ability to engage and develop others
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels
  • IT literate including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • High standards of numeracy, literacy, and attention to detail.
  • Flexible with a hands-on approach and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to work at pace and manage multiple deadlines

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: Up to £40,000.00 per annum
