The business I am recruiting for are in a very good situation, they have had huge recent investments which will surely see them in good stead for the future. You will be working with recognisable brands throughout the supermarkets. 

About the Role

As a Raw Material Technologist, you’ll play a key role in coordinating the raw material processes, ensuring the food safety, quality, and legal compliance of the site’s raw materials from an ingredients and packaging perspective. You’ll work closely with the teams to maintain and enhance food safety culture while identifying and addressing challenges proactively.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead by example in upholding food safety and quality standards.
• Conduct physical tests and assessments on raw material deliveries and maintain detailed documentation.
• Manage non-conforming materials, including quarantine, root cause analysis, and resolution with suppliers.
• Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to resolve raw material issues and ensure compliance.
• Support the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment and manage lab consumables.
• Assist with statistical trend analysis and KPI reporting on raw material performance.
• Conduct internal audits and champion a culture of continuous improvement.

• Have experience in food manufacturing or laboratory settings with a solid understanding of food safety and quality systems.

• Understand the broader impact of the technical function on the business.
