A respected leader in the food and consumer goods market, our client works with a diverse global customer base. They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced international regulatory expert to lead their team and navigate the complex international regulatory landscape in the food and drink industry. This key leadership position will provide strategic direction, guidance, and management of the International Team.

Role

As the Head of International Regulatory Affairs, your primary goal will be to lead a dynamic, collaborative team that is passionate about their work, open to new ideas, and committed to delivering outstanding service. With support from the broader technical and regulatory experts, you will cultivate client relationships, maximise opportunities, and ensure the team meets its targets.

Key Responsibilities.

  • Lead and influence regulatory compliance teams across international markets.
  • Develop and implement regulatory strategies that drive success across client accounts.
  • Ensure commercial awareness and effective leadership in client relationships.
  • Guide cross-functional teams to deliver regulatory and technical services in alignment with business objectives.
  • Ensure consistent and efficient delivery of regulatory services to clients according to agreed frameworks.
  • Identify training needs and develop plans to ensure team competency and growth.
  • Lead the forecasting and resource planning for client portfolios, ensuring risks and project volumes are managed proactively.
  • Work with stakeholders to implement solutions to any identified capacity risks.
  • Align team roles with business plan objectives, ensuring performance goals are met.

People Profile.

  • A regulatory expert with a minimum 10 years of experience of working in a technical/regulatory affairs role within an international position
  • Fluent in English and ideally one other language - German, French, Spanish, Dutch
  • Demonstrable customer and internal stakeholder management skills
  • Management of people and Teams include the development of people within your team
  • Understanding of challenges and pressures bringing products to shelf and potential food safety risks
  • Qualifications in food or regulatory subject with sound technical knowledge, or able to demonstrate excellent relevant experience
  • Proactive, positive, enthusiastic – demonstrating a “can do” attitude and a keen interest in knowledge sharing.
  • Analytical, structured thinker with attention to detail but able to communicate complex issues in a concise, understandable manner.
