About the Technical Assistant job
The purpose of your role will be to support the Technical Manager in order to develop and maintain a food safety and quality assurance program, ensuring the company’s products are safe, legal, and meet or exceed customer expectations.
Key tasks
- Conduct internal and external audits while documenting non-conformances and ensuring compliance with the quality manual.
- Perform product testing, environmental swabbing, and staff training on quality and safety, and liaise with pest control contractors as needed.
- Investigate complaints, identify root causes, log non-conformances, and monitor and report KPIs to the management team.
- Help write and maintain products specifications.
About You
You might already have food manufacturing experience within a quality or technical capacity, or you might be a recent Graduate in a food or science related subject - or even a combination of both!
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to start a career path in the technical side of food manufacturing so you will need to be enthusiastic, responsible and have a decent level of education to cover Maths, English and Science, plus be computer literate.

The Technical Assistant job (ref:8827) is based in Plymouth and is paying £30,000 according to your experience.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, office hours but with some flexibility here.
