Head of Quality (Food and Pharmaceutical)

The Role.

To lead and manage all aspects of the Quality function on site. Key accountability for the Quality Management System and the team’s performance. Driving the quality strategy, team development and quality compliance throughout the site by improving systems and people’s compliance with them.

Key Accountabilities

• To manage the Quality Management System to ensure compliance with UK and EU pharmaceutical legislation and other applicable legislation as required to meet country standards of product use
• Manage relationships with competent authorities such as the MHRA and the BRC and with the company’s customer base
• Maintain and grow regulatory knowledge required to sign off and maintain key ASMF documentation
• To develop and implement appropriate compliance practice, 
• Act as a mentor to the Quality team
• To lead and implement planned change within the Site Quality function
• Keep up to date with changing compliance expectations from regulatory bodies and customers
• Operational excellence. Eliminate non-value add or non-data driven practices in the Quality function    
• Act as a quality compliance figurehead and walk the site (especially production) to improve and maintain quality standards and GMP compliance
• To oversee and improve all key quality activities 

People Profile.

• Extensive experience within a senior Quality role, preferably API or nutraceutical
• Previous experience in managing both QA and QC functions or operating at a senior level in larger organisation functions
• A degree qualification in a scientific/technical discipline or equivalent experience
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Strong organisational and effective team management skills and direct line management experience
• Commercial focus.
• Excellent coaching skills
• Positive and infectious can-do attitude   
• The energy to drive and improve the whole business performance
