Quality Assurance Manager

Location: Craigavon

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

Job Brief

A leading food manufacturing business seeks a Quality Assurance Manager to join its technical team in Craigavon. Reporting to the Technical Manager, the role involves overseeing all aspects of Quality, Technical, and Food Safety to ensure products meet customer expectations and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Technical Manager with all relevant Technical and Quality areas.
  • Maintain the Quality Manual and systems to meet BRC standards.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding quality or food safety issues.
  • Supervise and manage QA and Hygiene staff.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager and Supervisors to ensure production practices meet required standards.
  • Ensure accurate completion, recording, and filing of QA paperwork.
  • Support management in the effective handling of technical audits.
  • Act as a deputy for the Technical Manager when required.
  • Proactively drive quality improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collect samples and analyse microbiological results.
  • Resolve day-to-day quality issues and anomalies.
  • Contribute to HACCP processes, including updating risk assessments, hazard analysis, and product flows.
  • Implement and monitor corrective actions.
  • Address customer complaints promptly.
  • Conduct mass balances and traceability exercises.
  • Manage raw material suppliers.
  • Oversee the calibration schedule.

Requirements

  • Valid UK/EU driving licence.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a Quality or Technical role.
  • Degree or HNC/D in a relevant food-related discipline.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in IT with the ability to record and present information concisely.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy team environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
