Technical Manager

We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join this leading grower packer of fresh produce where you will lead and develop their Food Safety and Quality culture. The successful candidate will oversee the company's Food Safety and Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and legal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the company's Food Safety and Quality culture in collaboration with other departments.
• Develop, maintain, and review Food Safety and Quality Management Systems, including HACCP.
• Monitor and report Key Performance Indicators to support business objectives.
• Ensure internal audits are conducted efficiently and that corrective actions are completed promptly.
• Maintain raw material, semi-processed, and finished product specifications while ensuring compliance.
• Oversee sampling and testing programs for raw materials and finished products.
• Develop and implement the company's environmental swabbing plan based on risk assessment.
• Maintain and update the Quality Assurance Manual and supplier approval processes.
• Act as the main point of contact for customer and supplier technical inquiries, including complaints.
• Ensure the company stays up to date with legislation changes and customer codes of practice.
• Manage and support a team of QA professionals, stepping in for the QA Manager when needed.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience in a Technical Manager or similar role within the food or fresh produce industry.
Strong knowledge of Food Safety & Quality Management Systems, HACCP, and BRCGS standards.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to develop and manage teams.
Strong understanding of audit processes, supplier approval, and compliance requirements.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
