Are you passionate about sustainability and ethics in the fresh produce supply chain? Do you want to make a real impact on the environmental and ethical standards of a fresh produce business?

About the Role

As an Ethical & Sustainability Technologist, you will play a critical role in assessing and improving the environmental and ethical impact of the business and supply chain. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that align with customer standards and regulatory requirements. Beyond compliance, this role is about leading, inspiring, and embedding sustainability values into everyday business practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and implement our Sustainability & Ethical Strategy,
  • Develop and manage environmental risk assessment process.
  • Proactively seek innovative sustainability solutions related to waste reduction, circularity, and supply chain engagement.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in environmental sustainability and ethical trading.
  • Drive delivery of Net Zero targets and emissions reduction roadmap, maintaining ISO14001 compliance.
  • Identify sustainability-related risks and opportunities for value creation.
  • Maintain sustainability KPIs, performance dashboards, and oversee sustainability performance monitoring.
  • Support SEDEX Member Ethical Trade Audits (SMETA), ISO14001, and other relevant audits.


What We're Looking For

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional who is passionate about sustainability and has a strong background in environmental regulations and ethical trading. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience in a similar role within the fresh produce sector.
  • A strong understanding of sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., Manufacture 2030, CDP, WRAP, Courtauld Commitment 2030).
  • Excellent analytical skills, with a practical and investigative approach.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to secure buy-in across departments.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (intermediate to advanced level required).
  • A proactive and self-motivated attitude, with the ability to inspire and lead others.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
