This pioneering business is a leading provider of innovative food solutions, working collaboratively with various teams to deliver high-quality products that meet both customer and market demands. As a Product and Process Technologist, you will work closely with multiple teams, including Chefs, Commercial, Purchasing, Production, and Technical teams, to create and deliver new and improved food products. You will be responsible for developing, testing, and commercialising food solutions, while ensuring that all products meet high standards of quality, safety, and consistency. Your role will require strong collaboration, problem-solving skills, and a passion for food innovation.

Key Responsibilities
•    Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with colleagues involved in product development, trials, and launches.
•    Collaborate with the Commercial, PR, and Marketing teams to identify gaps in the market and discover new product opportunities.
•    Gather feedback from relevant teams to create food solutions that satisfy customer and consumer needs.
•    Monitor the external market to identify opportunities and competitor offerings.
•    Work with the Production Manager to interpret briefs, commercialize designs, and successfully launch products in production while ensuring consistency across the entire process.
•    Assess current production processes and recommend improvements to align them with product specifications.
•    Liaise with Engineering and Production teams to develop solutions to production issues while maintaining food safety.
•    Collaborate with Production and Purchasing teams to identify quality issues and amend raw materials as needed.
•    Drive continuous improvement in internal processes, manufacturing equipment, and challenge other departments to enhance procedures and ways of working.

Person Requirements
•    Strong food manufacturing experience and a solid understanding of factory processes 
•    Qualification in food science, food engineering/chemical engineering, or food technology 
•    Technical expertise in areas like cooking instructions, labelling, Nutri-calc, legislation, micro-awareness/testing 
•    Knowledge of NPD processes, food hygiene, HACCP, and BRCGS standards.
•    Proven experience in creating food solutions that satisfy customer and consumer needs.
•    Experience in commercialising products by tailoring ingredients and ensuring alignment with site capabilities.
•    Deep understanding of food market trends and ability to identify gaps in the market and existing portfolios.
•    Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to identify and maximize opportunities while minimizing costs.
•    Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and the ability to recommend improvements for efficiency.
•    Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and analyse technical information.
