Operations Manager – Shropshire

Salary: up to £60,000 (DOE)

 

We’re working with an established, growing food manufacturer who develop and supply a range of chilled and frozen products into some of the UK’s biggest retailers. If you’re an experienced Production or Operations Manager looking for a new challenge, then this could be for you!

 

About the Role:

Reporting to the Site Director, you’ll be instrumental in driving performance and delivering improvements across the site. Managing a team of 5 direct reports, with an overall headcount of around 120 people, some of your key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Leading from the front in the factory, spending time on the shop for to develop and motivate your team, while supporting the Site Director to delivery strategy.
  • Empowering your teams to develop a proactive, high-performance culture.
  • Working cross-functionally with colleagues at all levels to ensure KPIs are achieved, efficiencies are improved, and food produced is of the highest quality. 
  • Collaborating with the CI Manager to deliver improvements and promote a proactive, solutions focused environment.  
  • Championing safety, ensuring all work complies with best practice and HSE legislation.

 

About You:

This would be ideal for an experienced Production Manager looking for progression or an Operations Manager seeking a new challenge. The role is likely to grow in terms of scope and responsibility and we’re keen to hear from anybody with the following skills and experience:

 

  • Leadership experience gained in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, ideally in chilled/high-care or bakery.
  • A ‘hands on’ leader, comfortable leading from the front on the shop floor but able to engage with senior stakeholders to deliver improvements.
  • Proactive approach, with a flair for identifying and implementing opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
  • Able to coach and develop teams to improve engagement and succession planning.
