About the Head of Operations job

Reporting to the Site Director, as Head of Operations you be a key figure in the SMT you will champion a business culture which encourages health & safety and food safety.

Role

• Embedding the company vision and culture within the site.
• Site health & safety procedure and ongoing management through the promotion and enforcement of a safe working environment.
• Lead, inspire, and motivate a diverse team of employees, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to optimise production processes, minimise waste, and improve overall efficiency.
• Create a high-performance culture whilst maintaining an environment where individuals are valued and respected.
• Develop plans to increase efficiency / reduce costs, whilst improving existing systems.
• Training and developing teams and individuals in accordance with company policy and standards.
• Embedding strict food safety & hygiene processes and procedures.
• Working closely with suppliers to ensure ingredients stock management and traceability meet company standards. About You

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, someone who has experience of operations management within the food industry and has the gravitas to operate in a senior role within a dynamic business. They will be confident, assertive, a team player and someone with excellent numerical and verbal skills. Extensive experience in FMCG is essential. • A “hands on” approach to management, and close working with a busy team.
• Experience of structured Operations processes and “daily excellence” in food safety, traceability recording and other high-level working practises.
• Experience of working with UK retailers, and associated audit bodies
• Strong leadership & coaching skills and the ability to motivate and develop teams.
